Risk
With the new VUEWorks 2009 Risk module you can:
- Apply industry proven methods to prioritize assets by ranking Consequences of Failure (CoF) and Probability of Failure (PoF) across any class of assets
- Target and refine maintenance plans, capital expenditure plans, and activities to mitigate costly failures.
- Use the extremely flexible interface to set up your own criteria and weighting values.
- Base failure modes on linked data or set up your own data directly.
- Use Work Order counts (such as number of pipe breaks) as a failure mode.
- Use any or all condition categories as failure modes.
- Define and edit CoF criteria using VUEWorks multi-edit features.
- Use risk information in conjunction with Work Orders to set up your own Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) program.
The ability to assess Risk is fundamental to any asset management program, and the Risk module distinguishes VUEWorks from other asset management software by giving you all the tools you need to evaluate risk across all asset classes.
You can configure your list of consequences with just a few clicks
Highly configurable, the module allows you to define up to ten consequences of failure with your own weighting values for each asset type and identify which consequences contribute to the overall criticality of each asset. Common consequences include; potential loss of life, personal injury, environmental impact, regulatory impact, loss of service, damage to property, public relations, loss of revenue, etc. Up to ten failure modes for each asset type may be assigned from practically any data source available including GIS data, condition data, work order counts, linked data, or user defined.

Prefer to use the term “likelihood of failure”? No problem, with the Terms tab you can assign whatever terms match your preference. And that’s not all. The Risk module provides two ways to view and drill down into your risk data to pull out the information you need to support decisions. You can then export your findings to Excel for further evaluation, highlight the assets on the map, or create robust reports with the same reporting tools available throughout the application.
